About VASA
Vasa are an instrumental post-rock quartet from Glasgow. Since
forming in 2011 they've firmly established themselves as one of the
most exciting acts in the Scottish music scene, catching attention
with with their own sublime brand of melodic, guitar-driven rock and
a soaring instrumental style that has seen them compared to the likes
of Mogwai, And So I Watch You From Afar and Adebisi Shank.
After being tipped as one of Scotland's bands to watch in 2012 Vasa
didn't disappoint, with a series of storming live shows culminating
in the release of their debut EP Never Have Dreams at the end of the
year. Described as “one of the finest debuts in the post-rock genre
in quite some time“ the record combines soaringly atmospheric
soundscapes, bursts of frantic energy and moments of mellow elegance
to exceptional effect.
