\\\ SAPPYFEST VIII ///
--- Don't Get Your Hopes Up ---
\\\ LINEUP ADDITIONS ///
Sappyfest is very happy to announce a few late additions to its lineup that include Montreal's subversive pop duo CAMP, Halifax hip-hop crew Weirdo Click, local garage-psych gesticulators Kappa Chow, Scottish folk darling Pictish Trail, and the slinky funk of Montreal's Karneef. Highly disappointing is the cancellation of both TOPS and Blackout Beach, two well regarded and skilled groups who will be dearly missed.
\\\ WHY NOWHERE? CONFERENCE ///
With
unprecedented support from FACTOR Canada and the New Brunswick
Department of Wellness, Tourism and Culture through their Strategic
Initiatives Program, Sappyfest is happy to announce the development of Why Nowhere? the festival's first attempt at a conference. Running in conjunction to the festival, Why Nowhere? focuses on professional development and the best practices for small festival producers and rural presenters, with an emphasis on
networking, knowledge sharing, partnerships, and exchange. It's the
festival's hope that the conference is a casual, community oriented
affair in the spirit of other Sappyfest programming, and as far from a standard music industry event as possible.

• To contextualize rural practices, destination festivals, and programming trends within a critical framework.

is very excited to be bringing in a variety of festival producers from
around the world and across the country. A complete list of delegates
