Opeth - April 23rd 2013 - Halifax MPC - 08On a cold and rainy Tuesday night, OPETH brought their North American Heritage Tour to Halifax.

Starting off the night with "The Devil's Orchard", from the band's newest release, they played an array of songs, from albums new and old - much to the crowds pleasure.

 Even though I was in a large room, filled with hoards of people, the show definitely had an intimate feel to it. Periodically stopping to ask us about our love for RUSH and our disapproval of Justin Beiber, the band seemed very at home on the MPC stage - and with us Haligonians. The best comment made, in my opinion, was when front man, Mikael Åkerfeldt commented on Halifax's weather. "The one thing I noticed, it's cold. And I'm from Sweden!"
