Award-winning singer-songwriter David Myles, currently nominated for three 2013 East Coast Music Awards (ECMAS) and slated to co-host the Gala Awards Show, will celebrate the release of his sixth studio recording during a concert at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium in Halifax on Thursday, May 9 at 8 p.m. The concert will feature material from Myles' upcoming record In The Nighttime, due out May 7, as well as favourites from past releases.
With multiple ECMA wins under his belt, as well as a 2012 SOCAN Award in the Folk/Roots category and the 2012 Music Nova Scotia Award for Male Artist Recording of the Year, Myles has won over audiences from Sydney, Australia to Sydney, Nova Scotia.
Myles’ sixth studio recording sees him return to the sophisticated and smooth love songs that have become his trademark. Produced by Aaron Davis (best known as a founding member of the Holly Cole Trio), In The Nighttime comes out on the heels of Myles' huge success with “Inner Ninja,” a collaboration with Classified. Already known for his versatility and ability to fuse styles, this is Myles’ third collaboration with Classified and has already been certified gold. Other recent collaborations include “Whole To My Half,” a duet from Measha Brueggergosman’s latest release.
Myles’ intricate songwriting has garnered him wins in the International Songwriting Contest, song placements in film and television and a place on CBC’s “Great Canadian SongQuest.”
