NEWS: BRAIDS win GAMIQ award for “Native Speaker”

Braids were nominated for a stunning five awards at the Quebec Indie Music Awards (GAMIQ). Last night the band took home the Indie Rock Album of the Year award for their debut album Native Speaker. (By “took home” I of course speak metaphorically, as the band is still on tour across Europe as part of their epic and seemingly endless tour.)

Native Speaker has already been lauded all over the darn place, including being shortlisted for the 2011 Polaris Prize, and has been gracing many early year-end lists. You can read about the GAMIQ awards here in both official languages: http://www.gamiq.net
