Halifax rocktronica duo Scientists of Sound will be kicking off their Maritime Tour on September 25th as they release their brand new 5-song, digital EP "Electric Is The Night". The EP is being released in advance of a new full length album from the duo expected next spring.
Electric is the Night marks a departure from the dark sounds and themes of their 2013 debut, and instead finds Scientists of Sound embracing influences of 70s funk and early electronica.
"We wanted to give fans something while we finish up the new full length" commented Craig Mercer, adding "these five tunes didn’t necessarily fit thematically with the rest of the album, but worked great together as a stand alone release"

Anthemic electro with raging guitar hooks, heavy grooves, eclectic polyrhythms, and catchy gang vocal melodies make SOS a standout in the live electronica genre. Their live show is a frenzy of sweat-drenched electronic madness coupled with a synched video and light show, costumed theatrics, and on the fly sampling of the audience - bringing crowd participation to a whole new level.
Scientists of Sound release their new digital EP - Electric is the Night - on September 25th, followed by a new full length follow up to 2013's Electric Scissors in the spring of 2016.
