Since the release of their new album, Conversationalist, Halifax’s In-Flight Safety has been making serious waves on the music scene at home as well as the US, Europe and Peru. The 5-piece group is heating up MUCH with their video for Animals, and is getting ready to pack their bags for another road trip to the US. The band will be stopping at SXSW, along with Nashville and New York to name a few (full tour dates listed below). Before they run for the border, they will be playing a Fan Appreciation show in Toronto at The Legendary Horseshoe Tavern. Check out the details here on how fans can get in for free!

Last month, IFS was invited to play in LA as part of the Canadian Celebrations during Grammy week, including a show at the Canadian Consulate with former touring mates Yukon Blonde. The band had the chance to take over CBC’s Instagram – capturing moments from their first ever trip to LA. The band was also recently nominated for 2 ECMA’s – Album of the Year and Rock Recording – all the while releasing their new video for Animals. The video was directed by Drew Lightfoot and shot in both an abandoned 1930s theatre in the small town of Sackville, NB, where the band started, and in the spooky forests of the band's current home in Nova Scotia. 2014 ended on a high note when the group grabbed at the unique opportunity to collaborate with the TV series Haven (who are fans of the band), to shoot a video for their song Destroy, on set of the show. The video premiered right before the season finale of the show.

The band has received incredible notable acclaim with a feature in Nylon Magazine, and GQ Magazine UK declaring, the anthemic riffs and percussion [of Animals] will pull you out of your Monday morning funk.” IndieShuffle also raved, ”The Canadian indie band delivers a rock delight boasting sing-a-long lyrics and envious vocals from their lead singer.” Animals hit the Top 50 at Commercial Active Rock in Canada and is starting to build at Commercial Alternative Radio, including adds in Halifax to Radio 96.5 and Live 105. In the USA, their new album came in at # 18 on the Top 200 Adds Chart, and charted in the Top 40 alongside Chvrches and Future Islands in Lima, Peru.

The JUNO and MMVA nominated group has heard their music in an incredible collection of TV series including The Office (NBC). The group has performed at many festivals such as SXSW in Austin, TX, Great Escape in Brighton, UK, CMJ in New York City and Liverpool Sound City in Liverpool, UK.
