NuFunk.ca & Dalhousie Caribbean Connections is pleased to present the 6 Annual Bob Marley Birthday Tribute show, taking place on Saturday, February 15th at The Marquee Club's Hell's Kitchen as a part of Black History Month. Hosted by Toronto reggae collective House of David Gang joined by Caribbean DJ TopKyat plus special guests Stahmenah & The Irie Vybz featuring African Nova Scotian Music Association winner Garreth 'Stahmenah' Warren.  House of David Gang's Bob Marley Tribute is a multi-Province road show presenting a who’s who of Canada's Reggae scene performing a heartfelt tribute to one of the greatest musical and political figures of our time. In addition to experiencing the great music & great vibes, attendees can help contribute to a good cause. Attendees are encouraged by bring non-perishable food items for FEED NOVA SCOTIA.
The focus is on performing a wide variety of music from Bob Marley’s catalog; from his early singles on Studio One, Trojan and Tuff Gong to his biggest hits on Island Records including I Shot the Sheriff, Buffalo Soldier, Exodus and No Woman No Cry. As always the musicians and artists are encouraged to showcase their own original material that is influenced by Marley and that brings to light Canada's burgeoning original reggae scene.

FEED NOVA SCOTIA is a charitable organization that helps feed hungry people by collecting and distributing food to more than 150 member agency food banks and meal programs, while at the same time striving to eliminate chronic hunger and poverty through research, awareness and support programs. After strong food collections around Christmas, Canadian food banks are often low on resources at this time of year which makes this initiative valuable to the Halifax community. HOUSE OF DAVID GANG
Throughout their career House of David Gang has been known for their uplifting roots rock reggae sound reminiscent of Kingston, Jamaica's music scene in the late 70's & 80's highly influenced by the works of Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, Dennis Brown and Gregory Isaacs mixed with a modern roots Canadian feel. The band takes its name from The House of David, an after-hours spot on Queen Street West that was a hotspot for artists from the city's burgeoning Rastafarian and reggae community from the late 80s until the mid 90s.
Touring behind their brand new album "Reggae Warrior," House of David Gang have lived up to their namesakes as Canada's busiest reggae act with over 65 club and festival tour dates in 2013, multiple television appearances, and 3 charting singles "Rain" "Reggae Party" and "Best I can be."    CBC Toronto host Matt Galloway says "One of the most interesting reggae bands in the country"  and Exclaim Magazine says the album "Reggae Warrior works to remind the reggae faithful of the earthy Queen Street West live vibe, while at the same time showing that the band's potential to deliver a modern classic."
