In April of this year, Toronto’s punk-poet Rob Moir released his sophomore album Places To Die (Underground Operations/Universal) and was then preparing to embark on a European tour. In the ensuing four months, as Rob crossed Europe, Australia and the UK playing 104 shows in almost as many days in 12 different countries. He and his new record have garnered a significant amount of attention along the way.
Yesterday both AUX in Canada and Rolling Stone in Europe premiered the new video for his song "The Fear" a beautiful, haunting story told through the lens of Toronto director Grandson & Son (Emmanuel Jal, Neverending White Lights).
"I was so proud when I finished recording 'The Fear', a song that crossed new musical territory for me. Watching Grandson and Son's visual interpretation compliment the song so perfectly, I felt awestruck. The hammer hit the nail right on the head. I simply love it."
Rob released his first solo EP in 2010 called, This Is The Lie. He's since shared the stage with fellow alt-folk artists such as Frightened Rabbit, Frank Turner and Sean Rowe. He has played NXNE 2011, CMW 2012 and a multitude of successful tours in Canada, Europe, UK and USA. Today, Rob confirms an Eastern Canadian tour for most of October and early November that takes him from Hamilton to Charlottetown. Prior to arriving home in a Toronto date to be announced, Rob has 8 dates in the UK, more details are available on his website and all his upcoming Canadian dates follow below.
