After an extensive through Europe and North America alongside Frightened Rabbit, Wintersleep return home to Halifax to celebrate The Marquee Ballroom’s Grand Opening with a performance on Friday, April 26. Special guest is Always.

Since its release last year, Wintersleep have been on the road in support of their fifth full-length album Hello Hum.  The JUNO Award winners first began working on songs in a small apartment in Halifax over 10 years ago.  Currently comprised of Paul Murphy, Tim D'Eon, Loel Campbell, Mike Bigelow and Jon Sumuel, Wintersleep have traveled across many continents and appeared on "The Late Show with David Letterman."  They've toured with the likes of The Hold Steady, Wolf Parade and Editors, among others.  The band also performed two of the final shows at The Marquee Club before it shut down in early 2009.

"Hello Hum is a beautiful and triumphant album, the sound of a long-running band rediscovering itself." - Now Magazine

"... influences are present on the fantastically life-affirming "In Came The Flood," and continue to pick up pace across the album's running time, gathering up bits of The National, Interpol, Animal Collective and, of course, REM as they go. Hello Hum is the view from the summit of North American indie rock." - Herald Scotland

Tickets for The Marquee Ballroom's Grand Opening are $27.99 in advance and $32.99 day of show (including tax and service charge) and are on sale now at www.sonicconcerts.com and the Bubba Ray's Sports Bar etixnow ticket kiosk.  This show is restricted to ages 19+ with VALID ID.  Doors open at 9 p.m.
