SappyFest VIII

August 2-4, 2013

Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada

The preparations for SappyFest VIII are well underway as we move so hopefully into spring, seasoned by a harsh winter, scarred from the battle of love. Romance, playfulness and creativity percolate in the warming soil, bulbs emerge and blossom, capturing our imaginations. In the generous spirit of an emerging spring, SappyFest is very happy to announce a few of the artists who will be performing at our little shindig, August 2-4, 2013 in Sackville, New Brunswick, the heart of the heart of the heart of the Canadian Maritime provinces.

Eclectic, challenging, captivating, and immensely talented, here are a few of the artists we’ve put together to lure you from your slumber, satiate your curiosity and inspire your devotion. The 2013 SappyFest lineup includes: Daptone recording artists and sanctified soul sisters Naomi Shelton&  The Gospel Queens (Brooklyn), brain bending, experimental saxophone soloist Colin Stetson (Montreal), punk-soul revolutionaries Chain & The Gang (Washington DC), ethereal space rockers The Luyas (Montreal), and rising Beast Coast rappers The Underachievers (Brooklyn).

Joining these five amazing acts will be a carefully curated schedule of 30+ bands, writers, films, performers, guest speakers, dog tricks, circus freaks and a handful of bewildered rednecks.

Stay tuned for more announcements in the coming weeks. Early Bird Passes are almost sold out, so you should really get on that. They are available online through www.ticketpro.ca or in Sackville at Thunder & Lightning, 23 Bridge Street. For more details visit: http://sappyfest.com/SappyFest_12/tickets/
