Attendees are encouraged by bring non-perishable food items for FEED NOVA SCOTIA (http://www.feednovascotia.ca)

Focus on performing a wide variety of music from Bob Marley’s catalog; from his early singles on Studio One, Trojan and Tuff Gong to his biggest hits on Island Records including I Shot the Sheriff, Buffalo Soldier, Exodus and No Woman No Cry.  As always the musicians and artists are encouraged to showcase their own original material that is influenced by Marley and that brings to light Canada's burgeoning original reggae scene.

FEED NOVA SCOTIA is a charitable organization that helps feed hungry people by collecting and distributing food to more than 150 member agency food banks and meal programs, while at the same time striving to eliminate chronic hunger and poverty through research, awareness and support programs.  After strong food collections around Christmas, Canadian food banks are often low on resources at this time of year which makes this initiative valuable to the Halifax community.

After nearly 350 hours of studio time at Toronto’s Playhouse Studios with producer Snappy Homefry and collaborations with over 20 musicians from Toronto’s reggae community, plus the funding support of the Ontario Arts Council Popular Music Program and FACTOR, Toronto roots rock reggae orchestra House of David Gang officially release Reggae Warrior on NuFunk.ca Records.

Throughout their career House of David Gang has been known for their uplifting roots rock reggae sound reminiscent of Kingston, Jamaica's music scene in the late 70's & 80's highly influenced by the works of Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, Dennis Brown and Gregory Isaacs mixed with a modern roots Canadian feel.  The band takes its name from The House of David, an after-hours spot on Queen Street West that was a hotspot for artists from the city's burgeoning Rastafarian and reggae community from the late 80s until the mid 90s.

House of David captivated audiences this summer at Rastafest to over 4,000 fans alongside The Mighty Diamonds and Echo Minott; has garnered national attention on CBC Radio; and performed live to 2 million people on CityTV’s Breakfast Television performing their new songs, including the new single "Best I Can Be".  The band recently made its first West Coast tour to British Columbia, with gigs in Vancouver, Whistler, Courtenay and Nanaimo, after a 5-date tour of Quebec and the Maritimes earlier this summer.
