NEWS: Halifax Pop Explosion releases schedule for 20th anniversary festival


...adds YAMANTAKA//SONIC TITAN, Julie Doiron, and D.O.A. to line-up 

Halifax Pop Explosion has released the schedule for its 20th anniversary festival, which takes place October 16-20.  

 

The festival has also added Polaris Prize nominees YAMANTAKA//SONIC TITAN, revered indie artist and former Eric's Trip member Julie Doiron, and punk-rock legends D.O.A. to its line-up. Due to scheduling conflicts The White Buffalo and Clinic are no longer performing at this year's festival. 



In partenership with Porter Airlines, Halifax Pop Explosion launches its Fly Away Fan Package Contest this year. All festival wristbands and passes purchased on www.halifaxpopexplosion.com before October 5th automatically earn you the chance to win a prize package worth over $3000.00. Details of the two prize packages are as follows: 

Grand Prize Package (1 winner):
2 Porter Airlines Freedom Class return flights good for anywhere Porter Airlines flies 3 nights accommodation at the festival host hotel - Atlantica Hotel Halifax 2 VIP pass upgrades, which provide all-access entry to all venues throughout the festival 1 custom 20th anniversary screen printed poster 150 bands in 18 venues over 5 days

This year, Halifax Pop Explosion has also institiuted a rush/cash ticket policy. Concertgoers who have purchased five-day festival wristbands and passes will be given priority access to high demand venues up until 20 minutes before the show begins. The goal is to grant wristband/passholders easier access to high demand venues.
