POP MONTREAL SHOW ON SEPTEMBER 19th ANNOUNCED

CANADIAN TOUR DATES COMING SOON

Diamond Rings has revealed the cover art and track listing from his forthcoming sophomore album Free Dimensional, out October 22nd on Secret City Records. Later that week he will make his Network TV debut on the Late Show with David Letterman on October 26th. Diamond Rings has just announced the first wave of headlining shows in the US following his fall tour dates supporting Stars. He will also join Stars at POP Montreal on September 19th at La Tulipe with more Canadian tour dates to be announced soon. As evidenced by the reviews of his recent intimate showcase in Toronto, his upcoming tour is sure to not disappoint. For a sneak peek of some of the new tracks, including fan favourite Runaway Love, view a recent KCRW Morning Becomes Eclectic session here.

Free Dimensional (co-produced with the Grammy-nominated Damian Taylor [Bjork, The Killers, Prodigy, UNKLE, Robyn, Austra]) features 10 new tracks (listed below) that retain the melodicism, clever juxtapositions, and lyrical honesty that garnered kudos for his 2010 debut effort Special Affections. What's different this time around is how the songs were conceived and produced. "I wanted the first album to have that homespun quality," John O explains. Back then, he was wary of too many high-tech bells and whistles. "A big part of being afraid of something is not understanding it," he admits. "Once I became more comfortable with the medium of electronic music, it was only natural to want to improve."

The unique melodies and heartfelt lyrics Special Affections, received widespread critical praise from not only Pitchfork but also The New York Times and NME. This praise was topped off with head-turning performances at SXSW and CMJ as well as international tours with pop princess Robyn, dazzling new-waver, Twin Shadow and fellow Canadians, Junior Boys and PS I Love You.
