NEWS: STARS - Advance Album Streams Preview "The North" - Album Out on September 4, 2012

Just a week prior to the official release of their sixth full-length album, The North on September 4, 2012 STARS are offering advance album streams today at ExclaimMuchMusic and a stream accompanied by an exclusive track by track supplied by Torquil to The National Post.  The North will be released on the band’s own Soft Revolution Records in Canada and ATO Records in the U.S.

The North is still available at iTunes for pre-order here which offers two bonus remixes of album tunes “Progress” and title track, “The North.”  Watch a new album trailer, available to post and share, here.

Over the course of more than a decade together, STARS have consistently proven themselves adept at producing incisively sharp, beautifully orchestrated pop music. Says lead singer/guitarist Amy Millan of the new record, “This is the five of us attacking each song and turning it into something that is all of ours.”

STARS are gearing up for a North American tour kicking off with a September 7 play in Halifax at the Summersonic festival. STARS are also confirmed to appear on CBC Radio’s Q with Jian Ghomeshi on Friday September 14 as one of the show’s first Friday Live musical guests of the new season. STARS will tour across Canada in November with METRIC on a run of arena dates. Both album tracks from The North already available, “The Theory Of Relativity” and “Hold On When You Get Love And Let Go When You Give It” are still on offer to tempt your ears.
