NEWS: SONIC CONCERTS PRESENTS SUMMERSONIC 2012 FEATURING BEN HARPER, RISE AGAINST, STARS, K’NAAN & MORE, SEPT. 7-9

Making its debut in 2008, Summersonic returns to Garrison Grounds at Citadel Hill in Halifax with a stellar three-day line up, including multi-Grammy Award winners Ben Harper and Daniel Lanois, American punk rock band Rise Against, indie-pop sensations Stars, multiple JUNO Award winning rapper K’Naan and more, Friday, Sept. 7 to Sunday, Sept. 9.

With an acclaimed line up of local, national and international artists, Summersonic blends an array of genres, providing something for everyone.  Additional performers include California punk rock legends Lagwagon and The Vandals, alternative folk-rocker Bahamas, singer-songwriters Matt Andersen and Martin Sexton and hometown Celtic-rockers The Stanfields .  More performers will be announced.
 
Originally conceived as an intimate outdoor music festival in the heart of downtown Halifax, Summersonic is making its comeback after it first appeared in July 2008 and featured the likes of City and Colour, Wintersleep, Tokyo Police Club and The Black Keys.

Limited early bird prices for all tickets and passes are available until Friday, July 20. All prices are subject to tax and service charge.
 

Three-day festival pass: $70 early bird / $85 advance
Friday ticket: $30 early bird / $35 advance
Saturday ticket $50 early bird / $55 advance
Sunday ticket: $50 early bird / $55 advance

VIP tickets are $85 per day.

All tickets and passes and go on sale Friday, July 6 at 10 a.m. ADT, exclusively at www.sonicconcerts.com.  Major credit cards are accepted as well as PayPal and Interac online.
 

The festival is open to all ages with a licensed section for those 19+ with valid ID.
