NEWS: HPX Reminder - Early Bird Submission Deadline and A Birthday Party!

Early Bird Deadline is THIS Friday, Feb. 3rd!

Halifax Pop Explosion (HPX) is now accepting early bird submissions for our 20th Anniversary festival which takes place October 16-20, 2012. Artists wishing to perform can apply HERE. Early Bird submissions are $10.00 until February 03, 2012. Regular submissions are $15.00 from February 4th – May 21, 2012; which is the application deadline.

HPX 2011 showcased over 180 bands at 20 venues in front of more than 20,000+ fans and industry delegates and was the perfect lead up to our 20th anniversary in 2012. For a video re-cap of 2011, click HERE.

Waye Mason is Turning 40! 

Come celebrate the 40th birthday of former Executive Director, and current Chair of the HPX Board, Mr. Waye Mason! This birthday bash is not just about celebrating another year older, it's also a benefit for the The Parker Street Food Bank who serve families in need in our community.

Friday, March 2nd, at The Seahorse Tavern, Waye's birthday extravaganza will feature 7 short sets in a relentless deluge of some of the best music Halifax has to offer! Three Sheet, We're Doomed, The Extremities, Alright Already, Old Blood, This Ship and Sacrificing Sound. WOAH! That is one packed night of awesome.
