NEWS: Benjamin Russell's GURU GROAN Releases HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN Single & Video

Benjamin Russell's electro dance project, GURU GROAN, has lifted off with the release of a new sampled synthetic version of one of the oldest songs in the book. Available today on iTunes and CDBaby, HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN is over 400 years old.

Originally about a girl prostitute, over the years the song has transmogrified into the story of a boy gone wrong. The GURU GROAN version morphs the familiar 6/8 time into a 4 on the floor, 130 bpm uptempo house (pun?) track that grabs you and won't let go until the final drop.

The video features DJ Grand, Carlos Avila, Sheldon Lewis, and a unique vocal performance by Benjamin Russell with cameo appearances by Catia Canestrari, Nunzia Catena, Andre Daigle, Martine Lapointe and Myriam Porrazzo. Watch it here: http://youtu.be/LQt__pkzS7w

Benjamin Russell is a multi-genre artist who has divided himself in parts for those whose tastes are less wide ranging. BABYLON BABIES the first song from Russell's next album under his own name, was recently unleashed as a digital only single. RIVER OF STONE, his acoustic folk style project's first song, FOOTPRINTSIN THE SAND was also recently released. Watch for the upcoming launch of a remake of MIRACLE (Miracle of Love), Russell's hit from the 80's…
