NEWS: Boys Who Say No set to unleash Contingencies February 21!

Toronto’s indie-rockers Boys Who Say No have been quickly building buzz with their frenetic live shows and distinct sound. Following their critically praised 2009 self-titled EP, the boys are ready to release their first full-length album, Contingencies, on February 21, 2012. The band will play later that week on February 24, headlining the Steam Whistle Unsigned Series Showcase in Toronto. More tour dates to be announced soon!

Recorded at a rural Ontario farm, and mixed by Dave Newfeld (Apostle of Hustle, Broken Social Scene, Super Furry Animals), Contingencies is 12 songs packed with catchy lyrics, great melodies, and music that is undeniably made for dancing. From the driving beats in opener Atonement, straight through to the hauntingly melodic final track (untitled), a reprise of You Used To Get Along, you will be hard-pressed to find a moment where your toes are not tapping. Songs like 56K and Small Town Girl are tailor-made for the live show singalong and will have listeners rushing to look up the lyrics so they can join in at the next gig.

Childhood friends Luke Correia-Damude, Frank Cox-O’Connell, Mike Lobel and Antonio Naranjo have each worn different hats in the Toronto arts scene before coming together around a shared interest in inventive songwriting and good pop music. They have earned comparisons to the likes of Hey Rosetta!, Born Ruffians, and Okkerville River, and have shared the stage with Cuff The Duke, Plants and Animals, and Brooklyn art-punk duo Japanther, with whom they have toured extensively and will be hitting the road with once again this spring across America. Drawing house-packed crowds that are ready to dance, this is definitely a group that packs just as much punch live as they do on the record!

Get ready to wear your headphones out listening to Contingencies!
