The side stage will round out the bill of top shelf talent and feature performances from up and comers; Acres of Lions, The Balconies, The Coppertone, The Darcys, Hacienda, Indian Handcrafts, Library Voices, Said The Whale and Whale Tooth, making this the must-see festival of 2012.

"102.1 the Edge is proud to continue its tradition of showcasing Canadian and International talent at Edgefest '12, "said Ross Winters, Program Director, 102.1 the Edge.  "Edgefest gives our dedicated listeners access to a full day of live music in an outdoor setting at Toronto's Downsview Park."

"I feel like this year's Edgefest is the best one yet! I had a dream of the bands that I wanted to see and everyone said yes!  In a city without champions we can now declare we have a winner and its name is Edgefest!" - shouts the festival's talent buyer Elliott Lefko from Goldenvoice. From the company that produces Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, Goldenvoice is one of the world's leading event promotions companies.

Edgefest began as a single event for the 10th birthday celebration of 102.1 the Edge, Toronto's leading new rock station. After such an incredible success, the event turned into an annual concert for music enthusiasts.  For the past 20 years, Edgefest has featured the biggest names in new rock such as Rise Against, A Perfect Circle, AFI, Tool, Radiohead, Green Day, Blur, Our Lady Peace, Linkin Park, Stone Temple Pilots and hundreds of other major label and indie acts.

The 2012 Edgefest headliners are:

Billy Talent
Calling Billy Talent one of Canada's biggest and most current rock bands is not a stretch. After their break out hit in 2003 "Try Honesty" the band had the country from coast-to-coast in the palm of their hand. Eager fans were quick to reward the band with triple-platinum sales and that was only their debut album. Instant chart success can be a bitch, though. Billy Talent demonstrated their lasting mettle in the wake of 2006's Billy Talent II with three more platinum sales awards, a sold-out show at Toronto's 20,000-seat Air Canada Centre and, most unexpectedly, a No. 1 debut in Germany to match the one already notched on home soil. After slogging away together for more than 15 years now, these are four musicians who have worked for every cent of success. When it came time to record the stunning follow up, Billy Talent III, the band found themselves in the hands of legendary producer Brendan O'Brien. O'Brien's impressive resume includes the likes of Bruce Springsteen, AC/DC, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots and more. The result is the band's most realized work yet and has proved them entirely worthy of their household name status.
