Emerging in 2008, Lights was a one-woman show who played and programmed her own instruments and sang her own lyrics.  She signed a publishing deal at 16 and began writing for other artists.  Her self-titled debut EP earned her the 2009 JUNO Award for New Artist of the Year and her GOLD selling full-length The Listening garnered two 2010 JUNO nominations.

Released Oct. 4, Siberia is a collaboration with Canadian electronic outfit Holy Fuck and critically acclaimed Polaris Prize nominee Shad who appears on “Everybody Breaks a Glass” and “Flux and Flow.”  The album’s diversity goes from the dance-pop of “Toes” to the arms-up anthem “Banner” and the ballad “Cactus of the Valley.”  Lyrically, the album, which was written when the singer, who spent much of her childhood travelling to places like the Philippines and Jamaica with her missionary parents, had left the nest and landed in Toronto.

Lights’ sprawling online footprint includes over a half-million Facebook fans and over a quarter-million Twitter followers, not to mention a cult fanbase amongst the Comic-Con set.
