NEWS: SONIC CONCERTS presents THE SHEEPDOGS in FREDERICTON, MONCTON & HALIFAX, DEC. 1-3

The Sheepdogs - Evolve Festival 2011
The first unsigned band to land the cover of Rolling Stone, The Sheepdogs are returning to the east coast to perform in support of their critically-acclaimed album Learn and Burn. Dates include:

Dec. 1                        Fredericton              The Capital
Dec. 2                        Moncton                    Tide and Boar
Dec. 3                        Halifax                       Seahorse Tavern

Hailing from Saskatoon, the four-piece featuring Ewan Currie (vocals/guitar) Ryan Gullen (bass/vocals) Leot Hanson (guitar/vocals), and Sam Corbett (drums/vocals) recently beat out thousands of artists to be the first band or artist not signed with a major label to appear on the cover of Rolling Stone.  Voted by more than 1.5 Million fans worldwide, The Sheepdogs won the competition that garnered a deal with Atlantic Records, a performance at Bonnaroo, two appearances on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and the August 5 cover of Rolling Stone.

Their latest EP Five Easy Pieces debuted No.1 on iTunes in Canada and a deluxe edition of their full length Learn & Burn – including new artwork, fold-out poster, plus two bonus tracks – was released on September 27.  The band will be bringing their dynamic live show to the east coast on the tail of a national tour in support of Kings of Leon.

The Coast said, “…a slice of pure nostalgia that harkens back to ’60s and ’70s-era AM rock radio. Some bands try to achieve the same retro aesthetic and it feels forced and pretentious, but from the moment the play button has been pressed, The Sheepdogs sound nothing less than genuine.”

Eye Weekly said,“Whatever sparked the formation of Saskatoon’s The Sheepdogs, they’ve certainly soaked up all the right ’70s influences. But, more importantly, they’ve got the songs to match the sound.”

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 day of show (including tax) PLUS service charge and go on sale this Friday, Oct. 7 at 10 a.m. exclusively atwww.sonicconcerts.com

This show is restricted to ages 19+ with valid ID and doors open at 9 p.m.
