NEWS: In-Flight Safety showcase at SXSW, sign with UK label Conehead (Universal) and tour US, Europe, & UK
In-Flight Safety embark on a tour that sees them perform throughout the United States (including a showcase at SXSW), the United Kingdom, and Europe this March and April. The tour begins with send-off shows in Moncton, NB and Halifax,NS, and culminates with homecoming shows in Charlottetown, PE as part of the East Coast Music Awards.
The UK leg of the tour coincides with In-Flight Safety’s recent signing to Conehead, a UK-based label home to pop star Peter Andre whose album Revelation went platinum in 2009.
“We are thrilled to be working with In-Flight Safety,” says Graham Stokes, managing director of Conehead. “We have been waiting for the right time to expand the label. Tracks like "Model Homes," "Big White Elephant" and "Actors" from We Are An Empire My Dear will really resonate with the UK audience.”

Released in January 2009, We Are An Empire, My Dear (Night Danger) garnered the band six East Coast Music Awards nominations including Entertainer of the Year, Group Recording of the Year, and Alternative Recording of the Year. The album’s first single, “Model Homes,” also earned the band ECMA nods for Vibe Creative Group Single of the Year and Video of the Year and was heard by over seven million viewers on the season premier of NBC’s “Chuck” in 2010.
In-Flight Safety's debut, The Coast Is Clear, won three 2007 East Coast Music Awards, including Alternative Recording of the Year, Group Recording of the Year and CBC Galaxie Rising Star Recording. The band's videos for "Surround" reached medium rotation on MuchMusic while the video for "Coast is Clear" was featured in heavy rotation and went on to be nominated for the 2007 JUNO Award for Video of the Year and two MuchMusic Video Awards.
