NEWS: HEY ROSETTA! TO HEADLINE “RED CROSS ROCKS” BENEFIT CONCERT THIS MARCH

Featuring one of Billboard’s Top 5 Canadian Acts to watch, award-winning rock group Hey Rosetta! is set to headline Red Cross Rocks on March 22 at the Cunard Centre in Halifax to help raise awareness of the Canadian Red Cross’ work in Atlantic Canada. Local talents Soho Ghetto and The Coast’s Best Cover Band 2010, The Persuaders will open. 

Celebrating March as Red Cross Month, the event aims to raise more than $40,000 for Red Cross programs in Nova Scotia. Tickets went on sale Friday, February 8, 2013.

"We're glad to be a part of the Canadian Red Cross’ upcoming fundraising and awareness event,” said Hey Rosetta! lead singer and song writer Tim Baker. “We are only becoming aware of the scope and importance of what they do now ourselves. From their international work helping those most affected by disaster and conflict, to their many education programs here at home, they deserve everyone's kudos, everyone's attendance at the party and everyone's glass in the air."

In Atlantic Canada alone, the Canadian Red Cross responds to a disaster almost every day. Red Cross programs like bullying prevention and disaster response volunteer training will benefit from the funds raised during Red Cross Rocks. “It is our aim to engage a younger audience in the 19-30 demographic with the work, mission and fundamental principles of the Canadian Red Cross," said Cathie Desborough, Director of Fund Development for the Red Cross in Atlantic Canada. “Engaging this socially conscious group with an awareness message while raising funds vital to our programming allows the Red Cross to ensure future support for the next generation of citizens.”
