Currently on tour in France as part of the French Festival Les Nuits Des L'Alligator, Canadian songstress Lindi Ortega was thrilled to find out she was nominated for two Juno nominations earlier this week. These are her first nominations - one for New Artist of the Year and the second for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year: Solo for her 2011 debut release Little Red Boots (Last Gang Records). The Toronto-based artist feels very fortunate to be recognized by the Canadian music industry and is looking forward to celebrating in Ottawa. Until then she will be busy touring the UK and Europe and has been added as support for the upcoming Social Distortion tour this spring.
Yes you read that right – this April Lindi will be hitting the road with the legendary punkers Social Distortion. Western Canada will get to experience Lindi’s energetic live show this year that will include stops in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon and Winnipeg.
With sold out shows in the UK and Europe, Lindi has been getting her boots dirty touring on the other side of the Atlantic in support of the release of Little Red Boots. With many great reviews of both her album and live show, and recent features in France’s Glamour as well as Rolling Stone France, her presence in the UK and Europe is undeniable. 2012 is shaping up to be another banner year!
