A secret gem of Toronto’s indie pop-folk scene, Little City announce the release of Sperry/Capt. Kendall a new 7” vinyl and digital single. The single will be available in tandem with the band’s upcoming special release show on January 21, 2012 at 918 Bathurst, www.918bathurst.com a gorgeous, lofted ceiling arts space. Innovatively combining music with technology, the January show will be a multi-camera live-streamed event by Toronto production group, PlugTO www.plugto.com (more show details will be revealed shortly).

Formed in 2009, the at times 12 strong collective of musicians in Little City, has featured part-time members from full-time bands The Wooden Sky and Ohbijou. They quickly assembled the delightful 2010 EP, The Going And The Gone with producer Laurence Currie (Sloan, Wintersleep, Hey Rosetta!, Holy Fuck). They have been mesmerizing live audiences with their sprawling, entertaining and celebratory live sets. Their new 7” single was produced by Shaun Axani, Dave Clarke and Little City and the digital version for iTunes will feature additional bonus and acoustic tracks.

Prepping for the holiday season, Little City have contributed a fun and festively love-fraught holiday tune “We’re Breaking Up Again This Christmas” to Soundvat’s free 23 track holiday compilation album download. http://bit.ly/vNEq2x A signature of the band, beyond their eclectic range of instrumentation channeled into pitch perfect pop sensibilities, are the arresting and powerful lead vocals of Frances Miller. Glowing reviews have followed their 2011 CMW and NXNE showcases. Little City will tour Canada throughout the spring and summer (full dates to be announced in early 2012) meaning; the best-kept music secret of Toronto is about to become everyone’s favourite new band.
