NEWS: SONIC CONCERTS PRESENTS RON SEXSMITH IN ATLANTIC CANADA, FEB. 1-5

Critically-acclaimed and JUNO Award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter Ron Sexsmith is returning to Atlantic Canada to perform in support of his latest release Long Player Late Bloomer, Feb. 1-5.  Dates include:

Feb. 1              Fredericton

The Playhouse
Feb. 2              St. John’s

The Majestic
Feb. 5              Halifax

Revered by the likes of Bob Dylan and Elton John, Sexsmith released his 11th album, Long Player Late Bloomer, earlier this year.  Produced by Bob Rock (Metallica, Motley Crue, The Cult), the album was shortlisted for the prestigious Polaris Music Prize and he released an accompanying documentary about its making entitled "Love Shines."

“…Sexsmith's music just gets better, and his 11th album actually sounds eerily close to a classic Costello: immaculately well-observed songs delivered with sincerity and panache.” – The Guardian (UK)

“…Sexsmith tunnels out from melancholy, lifted by his pliant croon and effortless melodies.” – Entertainment Weekly

At the SXSW Film Festival, the documentary took home the Audience Award for the 24 Beats Category.  The film has also been screened at the Vancouver International Film Festival, the Hot Docs Festival in Toronto and premiered on HBO Canada this past May.
