NEWS: BRAIDS premiere video for “Lammicken” from the Polaris nominated “Native Speaker” on Pitchfork.tv

The band also announces even more fall tour dates with Pepper Rabbit, Gobble Gobble + Painted Palms in support, and will play the Polaris Award Gala Sept 19.

Mesmerizing, pulsating and hypnotic, the new video for “Lammicken” is the perfect visual accompaniment to the song from Braids’ Polaris Prize-nominated album Native Speaker. “Lammicken” was meticulously created by Calgary-based video artist Mark Webber with an array of dyes and without any other effects, and the end product lulls the viewer into the glacial pace of the song.

Having spent the summer playing festivals on both sides of the Atlantic, the band are readying themselves for another two months of touring in September. This time, the band brings Pepper Rabbit, Gobble Gobble + Painted Palms along on their first headlining tour in North America. The tour includes 13 dates in Canada, ending with a return home to Montreal on October 27th at Cabaret Mile End.

Mid-way through this epic trip the band turns around and fly to Toronto for a live performance at the Polaris Prize Gala. Shortlisted for the prize alongside Arcade Fire, Colin Stetson and more, the band will do a live performance on the stage at CTV'S studios at the Masonic Temple before heading back on tour again.
